From the Lewa Wilderness airstrip we offer a selection of scenic flights in our Cessna 206, Cessna 210, and Waco Bi-plane. Each flight is totally unique and individually magical, giving you the best options to experience the wonderful landscape around the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

VISIT RETETI ELEPHANT SANCTUARY!
Enjoy a private guided visit to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary and support wildlife conservation in this remote part of Kenya. At 7:30am you will take off from Lewa Airstrip on a 30-minute scenic flight over the Samburu lands. On arrival, your pilot will set up breakfast under the wing of the aircraft where you will enjoy stunning views of the conservancy. After a relaxed breakfast you visit the elephant orphanage, right on time to see the baby elephants (and giraffes!) receiving their morning milk feeding.

Flying low level you will have the opportunity to witness the Samburu daily life and the chance to see the elephants along the river banks. You will land at a remote bush airstrip for sundowner drinks before taking off again to fly back to Lewa Wilderness.

You will fly over extinct volcanoes, crocodile breeding grounds, unique rock formations, desert dunes and have the chance to witness thousands of flamingos in flight over Lake Logipi. After exploring this amazing desert region you will fly over the southern end of Lake Turkana, the world’s largest desert lake also known as the Cradle of Mankind. You will then land at a remote airstrip and enjoy a bush breakfast under the shade of an Acacia tree before flying back to Lewa Wilderness.
